(Original Dead Horse March Article)

I haven’t maintained a watchful eye on music videos the past few years in the same way I did in 2012. 2012 was my first full year living in Seattle and I was unemployed with a whole lot more time on my hands than I do now.

There are several videos in my original list that I still love. There are also several that I remember liking at the time, but have completely forgotten about. Watching them brings back very specific memories.

• Video’s from 2012 that I still love, two of which are probably my top two favorites of all time: Explosions In The Sky (all time fav 1), MIA (all time fav 2), Grimes, Polica, Rhye, Killer Mike, and Father John Misty.
• Video’s from 2012 that I completely forgot about: Justice, Mackelmore, Nosaj Thing, TEEN, Twin Shadow, and tUnE-yArDs.

The rest of the videos are too ridiculous to completely forget (HEALTH, Das Racist, Two Fingers, Orbital, Tom Waits), or are ones that I remember and like just fine, but aren’t ones I revisit (Beirut, Chairlift, Deep Sea Diver, Hundred Waters, etc.).
