I’m a sucker for “Best Of” lists. It can be anything, movies, tv, podcasts, restaurants, people, and honestly anything & everything you could possibly rank. As I’ve detailed other places, books have taken over my life in recent years (I think it will be a life-long addiction), so I’ve gravitated more and more towards book lists.

The Books I’ve Finished: January – June 2016
The last four years I’ve made a personal goal to finish an average of a book a week (52 books a year). I’ve accomplished that goal, if only just barely, every year, nearly doubling that number in 2015. I decided to not set a goal for 2016 and just finish books at whatever pace I finish them. I have several Neal Stephenson and Doris Kearns Goodwin books on my shelf that I want to read, so not putting a time constraint on myself seemed like a good idea.

The Burden of Nectarine Rejection
My existence in the universe amounts to almost nothing. I’m a flea on a speck, rocketing around a hydrogen and helium blip in ever expanding nothingness. The speck we call Earth will eventually be overtaken by the Sun as it too expands in a ball of flame taking everything we hold dear with it, just as the universe will eventually cool down as it expands and dies.
